Frequently asked questions

Is Illustration Era really free to use?

Yes. Illustration Era is completely free, with no account, watermark, or file limit.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. All conversion happens locally in your browser using JavaScript's Canvas API — your files never leave your device.

Which image formats can I convert between?

Illustration Era currently supports converting to PNG, JPG, WEBP, AVIF, BMP, ICO, and vector-traced SVG from any common image format.

Can I convert multiple images at once?

Yes. Select or drag in multiple files and Illustration Era will batch-convert and package them into a downloadable ZIP.

Can I compress images too, not just convert them?

Yes. Pick JPG, WEBP, or AVIF as your output format and a Compress selector appears with three levels: No (best quality), Mid (a light quality trade-off for a noticeably smaller file), and High (the smallest file size, with a visible quality drop). It applies while converting, so you get a compressed file in your chosen format in one step.

Why don't I see the compress selector for every format?

PNG, BMP, ICO, and SVG don't use a quality setting — PNG and BMP are lossless, ICO is built from a lossless PNG, and SVG is vector-traced. So the Compress selector only shows up when you choose JPG, WEBP, or AVIF.
